2026 Farm Crew | What to Expect Throughout the Season
April: *Fewer shifts in beginning of month with shifts increasing to regular hours by end of the month when tulip harvest is in full swing* Training/orientation, on call schedule, seed starting, prepping beds with irrigation and sunbelt, transplanting, bumping up seedlings into larger containers, watering greenhouse/flower nursery & ReTreeUS nursery, operating heater in propagation greenhouse, opening and closing sides of big greenhouse, putting row cover on and off new plantings, taking care of studio seedlings growing under lights, crating lily bulbs, tulip/daffodil harvesting & processing.
May: *Extra shift available Saturday May 9th* Seed starting, prepping beds with irrigation and sunbelt, transplanting, bumping up seedlings into larger containers, watering greenhouse/flower nursery & ReTreeUS nursery, taking care of studio seedlings growing under lights, crating lily bulbs tulip/daffodil harvesting & processing, bunching and arranging tulips, Mother’s Day Sale preparation, wedding, harvesting, processing, bunching, arranging, flower deliveries, market prep, stocking flower stand, mowing, weed wacking, ReTreeUS nursery maintenance, washing buckets.
June: Seed starting, transplanting, bumping up seedlings into larger containers, watering greenhouse/flower nursery & ReTreeUS nursery, crating lily bulbs, weeding, harvesting, processing, bunching, arranging, flower deliveries, market prep, stocking flower stand, mowing, weed wacking, ReTreeUS nursery maintenance, washing buckets.
July: Seed starting, transplanting, watering greenhouse/flower nursery & ReTreeUS nursery, crating lily bulbs, weeding, harvesting, processing, bunching, arranging, flower deliveries, market prep, stocking flower stand, mowing, weed wacking, ReTreeUS nursery maintenance, washing buckets.
August: Watering greenhouse/flower nursery & ReTreeUS nursery, harvesting, processing, bunching, arranging, flower deliveries, market prep, stocking flower stand, weeding, mowing, weed wacking, ReTreeUS nursery maintenance, washing buckets.
September: *Change in start time - as light changes we bump start time to 7AM about half way through month of September end time will remain 11:30 or bump to 12pm for those that want to keep the extra 30minutes of labor* Watering greenhouse/flower nursery & ReTreeUS nursery, harvesting, processing, bunching, arranging, flower deliveries, market prep, stocking the stand, weeding, mowing, weed wacking, ReTreeUS nursery maintenance, washing buckets, bed clean up and soil amending.
October: Watering greenhouse/flower nursery & ReTreeUS nursery, harvesting, processing, bunching, arranging, flower deliveries, stocking the stand, washing buckets, bed clean up, soil amending, planting tulips, planting daffodils, potting up peony plants and prepping them for overwintering, general farm clean up. *Expect schedule to shift to fewer days per week towards end of October into November as the season comes to a close*
